DNS stands for Domain Name System, and is the system that will translate alle the host names we browse to the server’s actual IP addresses.
Lots of IT admins and private families have used Google’s DNS servers instead of the ISP’s when configuring DNS settings in their network.
But we all know how Google is collecting data about everything we do, and fortunately a much faster, private/secure and still free service exist from Cloudflare.
220.127.116.11 is much faster! Below picture is from their own web server:
And they refuse to collect IP-addresses of their users, so it won’t be used against you or to direct ads to you.
And while your at it, maybe you should replace your Google search page with DuckDuckGo:

Do you want to protect your home network against malware and maybe also porn, then you can use different DNS servers, where the malware/porn sites have been omitted.
This is a huge job handling this, so you might have hosts removed that should have been there, or maybe they didn’t find the host just yet. But it wouldn’t matter to most families…
